Transformational Growth through Experiential Learning

The Foundation sponsored a field trip for students from Armstrong High School to visit the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington, DC.  For most students it was their first trip to DC and first train ride. The trip provided a profound learning experience, connecting classroom lessons to real-world history and culture. Principal Kelly Carter called the experience “transformational” and credits it as contributing to a 48-point lift in SOL history scores.
