Donation Policy
This Donation Policy outlines the terms and conditions that apply when you donate to TEPF:
Types of donations accepted: We accept donations in the following forms: Cash, Checks, Online ACH, Credit/Debit Cards, PayPal, Venmo, ApplePay, GooglePay, Securities, vehicle donations and other In-kind contributions. If paying by Direct Payment/Online ACH you agree to authorize us the right to issue a one-time Electronic Check to your bank. Your authorization gives us the right to present a check to your bank for payment of your donation.
How donations are used: We believe in transparency and want you to know that the majority of your generous donation will be allocated directly to funding the program you select. The Foundation retains a small percentage of contributions to fund program administration, fundraising and operations (Our Overhead) with a goal of maximizing funding to our public-school initiatives, this means 80% or more of contributions to schools goes direct to schools. Our Financials and IRS 990 can be found below.
Goal amounts for specific projects are approximate and will be finalized upon project completion.
Gifts to projects that do not achieve their funding goal within 2 years will be assigned to the Annual Fund.
Refund Policy: Donations are non-refundable. If you believe an error has been made in connection with your donation, please contact lboland@tepf.org.
Donor Recognition: We respect the wishes of donors who choose to remain anonymous. Donors may be acknowledged in our annual report, on our website, or in other public materials, unless requested otherwise.
At TEPF, we strive to operate in accordance with the principles outlined in the Donor Bill of Rights
Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To assure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights:
To be informed of the organization's mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization's governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
To have access to the organization's most recent financial statements.
To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
To be assured that information about their donations is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.
To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that an organization may intend to share.
To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
