Creating an Environment that Supports Wellness and Academic Success
Based on studies that show that the introduction of plants into the learning environment improves academic outcomes and mental health benefits for students and teachers, Open High School requested a grant to fund a biophilic installation, which the Foundation funded. Students, teachers and a specialty vendor created greenspaces within the school with plant matter. Students in the school’s AP research class will conduct a study to evaluate the impact of the project on students.
