Danny Sterling brings nearly three decades of professional leadership experience to his role as Executive Director of The Endowment Project Foundation. His career has spanned college athletics administration, corporate sales, and nonprofit leadership. Danny is dedicated to creating sustainable financial solutions that support public education and community development. He joined the Foundation in December 2024.

Prior to joining The Endowment Project Foundation, Danny served as Vice President at A Better Way Athletics, where he led sales and marketing strategies for a growing education and technology startup. His efforts focused on building scalable sales models, developing pricing strategies, and expanding market reach through targeted client engagement.

Danny's extensive background in college athletics includes serving as Executive Associate Athletic Director at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where he led all external operations, including development, marketing, and ticket sales. He spearheaded major fundraising campaigns, secured significant donations, and managed relationships with key donors and corporate partners. During his tenure at Presbyterian College as Director of Athletics, he developed the institution's first athletics facility master plan, secured a transformative $2 million gift for facility improvements, and added new varsity sports programs to enhance student engagement.

At the University of Virginia's College at Wise (UVa-Wise), Danny played a pivotal role in transitioning the athletic department to NCAA Division II status. As Director of Athletics and Major Gifts Officer, he led efforts to increase athletic scholarships, establish endowed scholarships, and implement academic support programs that improved student-athlete retention and graduation rates. He also developed the university's first licensing and apparel agreements, ensuring brand consistency and new revenue streams.  Sterling also held leadership roles at Longwood University, where he oversaw multiple departments and assisted with the Lancers’ transition to NCAA Division 1.

Danny holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Education from Virginia Tech.
