Raising excellence for public schools
Colleges and private high schools don’t rely on tuition alone. They count on significant alumni support. Public high schools are no different. Tax dollars aren’t enough to build the level of excellence public school students and teachers deserve. The Foundation’s support of school-level philanthropy and grant-making will put superior experiences and outcomes within reach for US public high school students and teachers.
Join us in helping America’s public high schools build philanthropic resources that power their excellence.
WHAT WE DO:
The Endowment Project Foundation is closing the funding gap between public and private high school education in America by building a culture of direct, focused, and impactful philanthropy designed to support school-level and systemic public education needs.
WHY:
Private colleges, public colleges, and independent private high schools have fundraising teams and foundations which oversee the solicitation and governance of billions of dollars in assets to enhance the education experience, yet the 90% of Americans who pass through public schools do not typically benefit from the same culture of philanthropy. TEPF was created to address this gap by providing public high schools with additional resources through a fundraising infrastructure, an alumni network, and through grant-making.
HOW WE WORK:
Tax dollars aren’t enough to build the level of excellence public school students and teachers deserve. Colleges and private high schools don’t rely on tuition alone. In fact, about 25% of their budgets are funded by significant alumni, family and community support. Public high schools have not had the benefit of those sustainable private resources. The Foundation’s support of school-specific philanthropy and grant-making will put superior experiences and outcomes within reach for US public high school students and teachers.
The Foundation’s fundraising and grant-making is driven by the priorities of individual school communities and supported by rigorous governance:
Each school fund is launched with a dedicated fundraising web portal supported by a best-in-class fundraising team and an alumni database.
TEPF collaborates with school and alumni groups to engage the community in fundraising participation.
As funds for schools are raised, Principals and the Alumni Advisory Boards request grant funding for school projects.
The TEPF Board of Directors provides fiscal oversight to ensure funds are deployed according to donor guidelines.
Regular reviews by outside accountants ensure transparency and accountability for donors and school communities.
